Angie started her career in the disability field in 1998 working with the Cedar Rapids Rec Center as a recreational supervisor (Special Olympic Coach). She continues to do this still today. She also has worked for REM Developmental Services with the ICF/ID population, Goodwill Industries and was a Case Manager for Linn County MHDD and United Healthcare for close to 15 years.
She initially joined Discovery Living in 1999 as a direct care staff and transitioned into the hourly program after college. She rejoined the team again in May 2017 with our daily and hourly programs, quickly taking on additional responsibilities with AC positions for 2 locations, accepting a Program Coordinator position in September 2018.
Angie has a Bachelor degree in Social Work from Mt. Mercy College. She volunteers with children’s ministries at Stonebridge Church, Girls Scouts of EIWI and has fostered for Uno’s Promise Animal Rescue in Cedar Rapids. She was awarded Coach of the Year for Cedar Rapids Rec in 2002 and Iowa 2014 Coach of the Year award for East Central Region Special Olympics.
